Welcome to the Bear Den

Den Leader

Our Goals   In the Bear Den, there are four general achievement groups: God, Country, Family, and Self. There are 120 achievement tasks and your Bear Cub must earn a certain number of achievements in each of the four groups to earn his Bear Badge.  This is the year your son will grow in amazing ways. After earning their Bear Badge, the scout may earn arrow points by completing additional achievement tasks.

Summary Much of the advancement for the Bear rank is done by the scout with his family outside of the den.  The parent signs off in the scout's handbook and the Den Leader records the advancements from the handbook in our tracking Software.  The Bear program relies heavily on family involvement, but you will see this gradually change with the scout doing more with his den and more individual direction as he graduates to Webelos.

Ready to join? Then you probably have some questions. Email Lisa at den3.pack742@gmail.com and leave your phone number and Diane will get back with you as soon as possible.

What the Bears are "Doing"...
  • Bowling Adventure
On Monday, November 3, the Wolves from Pack 221 visited Eastland Bowling Alley for our Den Meeting.  The boys had been working on earning their bowling belt loop.  We spent the week before learning about the different bowling terms and proper etiquette when bowling.  The boys got to try out their new found skills and did a fantastic job!

  • Fun Times
The wolves have been busy this year.  We have been learning about our nation and our flag.  We have tested ourselves with feats of skill, and are looking forward to our bowling outing on November 3.

  • Welcome, Wolves!
Whether you are new to the pack or have moved up from the Tiger den, we are glad to see you!  This year is going to be a great Cub Scouting year with lots to look forward to: camping, making Gingerbread Houses, Pinewood Derby, Blue/Gold banquet to name a few of our biggest events!  If you have an idea for something for your den or the whole pack to do, be sure to let your den leader or the Cub Master know!
