Tonight we started discussing First Responder to introduce the boys to first aid.   If you were not able to attend, the boys will need to read the chapter, and some additional assignments due at next den meeting on the 16th.  Also the boys are almost finished with the Stronger Faster Higher Pin.   The boys need to bring a completed fitness chart to get this requirement

Assignment

Fill out Page 65 and bring back for sign off

    Read Req 5 (Page 75-80)

Build Home first aid kit (Page 82) and bring to meeting

Come to the meeting with Fitness Chart complete in the Stronger Faster Higher section.

Have a great week.

Welcome and 9/21 Den meeting

posted Sep 20, 2015, 8:15 PM by Webelos 1 Leader Pack 221

Welcome to our new Web I year of scouting in 2015!

We have a den meeting on 9/21 at the church at 6:30.   There are a few things to remind the boys about the meetings.
1. Remember we will be wearing the Class A shirts  (Brown or Blue shirt)
2. We will be doing some physical tasks and they should wear tennis style shoes.
3. Bring your books.
4. Bring a timing device if you have one ( I will be using my phone).

We will be covering Stronger, Faster, Higher (Starting on Page 86).

Also remember the boys are tracking their food on the sheet handed out last Monday.   They will need to turn that in for the Cast Iron Cooking Pin we are working towards (Page 36).   For those who missed the meeting, we covered Food Safety, Different types of cooking, and Build/Start a fire.

The Week of 9/28, the Monday meeting will be a Pack meeting.

The next Den meeting will be SUNDAY Oct 4th.  We have a shopping trip at 2pm and the boys will be cooking that afternoon.

A Visit with Judge Goodman

posted Dec 11, 2014, 7:40 PM by Webelos 1 Leader Pack 221

The Webelos I's recently visited with the Honorable Julie M. Goodman, who is a judge with the Fayette District Court.  Judge Goodman graciously met with the scouts and took them on a detailed tour of the Fayette District Courthouse.  During the tour, Judge Goodman explained the Kentucky judicial system and what her job as a District Judge entailed.  The scouts also enjoyed a tour of Judge Goodman's chambers, and she allowed them to sit in one of the courtrooms at the courthouse.

We sincerely thank Judge Goodman for volunteering her time to meet with us.  She left an undeniable impression on our young group of scouts.  Thanks Judge Goodman!
